Since 1952, volunteers have been the backbone of Pet Haven and allowed us to keep our administrative costs down so public donations can go directly to animal care.

Volunteering your time is one of the best ways you can contribute to our life-saving work. Talk to a supervisor about the possible need for a rabies vaccination and any other preventive measures, then sit down and learn all you can about the system in place to exercise and socialize shelter dogs. m. Due to training, we ask our volunteers to commit to volunteering at least 2 times a week (3-hour shifts) for at least 3 months. One adult can supervise two minors. This critical role directly supports our operations.
Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to appropriately assess these differences and thus our policy is to limit our volunteer program to those 16 years of age or older.
